Our Founder, Our Purpose
Tropic began in a home kitchen, with Susie Ma creating a body scrub to help her mum pay the bills. What started as a simple act of care quickly grew into something much bigger, not because of ambition alone, but because Susie believed business could be a force for good.
From the very beginning, Susie was clear that Tropic would never exist just to sell skincare. It would exist to create opportunity, protect the planet, and support people – while delivering results-drive, clinically backed, and naturally-derived products that genuinely work and feel good to use.
That founding belief still defines Tropic today. Purpose isn’t something we’ve added later, it’s woven into how we operate, how we grow, and how we show up.

We donate 10% of our profits to charities and good causes working to protect the planet, support communities, and improve wellbeing around the world. Every Tropic purchase plays a part in this, meaning our customers don’t just shop skincare; they help fund real-world impact.
One of the most meaningful ways Tropic has created lasting impact is through our partnership with UWS – an international education charity dedicated to providing free, foundational education to children in remote, marginalised, and post-conflict communities around the world. Since the partnership began, Tropic has funded over 7.5 million days of education through customer orders and built five fully funded schools across Cambodia, Nepal and Madagascar.
