Welcome to our Infinite Purpose roundup! Every month we’ll be bringing you the latest developments in how Tropic is helping to create a healthier, greener, more empowered world. Let's get straight to it!
We won the 'Beauty Gives Back' award!
As Marie Claire said themselves, “This year, so many brands have launched initiatives and campaigns that all deserve to be celebrated, however, one ongoing project stuck with us." Spoiler alert: it was our partnership with United World Schools! We’re absolutely over the moon to be recognised as a standout force for good and receive this Marie Claire UK Prix d'Excellence award.
So far, in 2022 alone, we’ve funded a year’s worth of education for over 4,000 children at over 35 existing schools. On top of this, we’ve had the honour of funding and opening a brand new school in eastern Nepal. This wouldn’t be possible without our fantastic HQ team freshly making and dispatching our products, our wonderful Ambassador community who represent and share what Tropic stand for, and of course, every single customer who chooses Tropic.
Thank you so much for championing transformative beauty!
Changing Lives with Action Breaks Silence
On average, two women in England and Wales are killed every week by a current or former male partner. Staggered by these statistics, we partnered with Action Breaks Silence, an educational charity established to create a world where women and girls can live their lives free from the fear of gender-based violence.
Last year, we raised over £50,000 for Action Breaks Silence. This has funded an entire e-learning platform in the UK that will teach girls to be empowered, boys to be empathetic, and a whole new generation to care about the safety and wellbeing of others.
We’re so pleased to say that the first Youth Ambassadors from South London are completing our Train the Trainers Program, so they can deliver primary school education to end violence against women and girls. They are inspirational mentors and engaged trainers who are delivering Tropic’s ethos first-hand, to create a more empowered world.
Restoring corals with the Reef Restoration Foundation
We’ve now raised over £60,000 for the Reef Restoration Foundation! A non-profit based in Cairns Australia, this incredible organisation helps to regenerate the Great Barrier Reef by planting cuttings from coral that survived mass bleaching events. This is all part of the solution to encourage natural and healthy regrowth. We’d like to thank our Ocean Dive customers for helping us raise these proceeds, as 10% of the profits are donated directly to the foundation! Our support has also helped to expand the Reef Restoration Foundation’s operations, and they’ve managed to install a brand new coral nursery – a hub for biodiversity fed from a catchment of smaller reefs.
