With an Infinite Purpose to help create a healthier, greener, more empowered world, Tropic aim to be a force for good beyond beauty.
Education empowers children, opening the way for them to access better jobs and higher incomes later in life. That’s why we’re working with United World Schools, who share our vision of every child having the chance to go to school.
WHO ARE UNITED WORLD SCHOOLS?
United World Schools (UWS) work with local communities and supporters around the world in some of the world's poorest, most remote regions to give every child access to free education, and to ensure this education system is sustained for many decades to come.
Since 2009, UWS has enrolled over 30,000 children into over 150 schools across Cambodia, Myanmar and Nepal, effectively breaking the cycle of illiteracy for hundreds of communities.
HOW CAN YOU PLAY A PART?
Every Tropic purchase, no matter how big or small, now funds education for children living in some of the world’s poorest, most remote communities.
To put your purchases into perspective, every £50 spent (excluding delivery) equals a whole school day in either Cambodia, Nepal or Myanmar.
- Training teachers and improving education quality
- Classroom essentials, such as desks, chairs and whiteboards
- Filling school libraries with books
- Health services such as sanitation
EDUCATION FOR ALL
UWS schools are free for all to attend within the community it's built, with all the resources provided. Within these communities, everyone must commit to sending all of their children to school, including girls.
For these girls, education is particularly important. Not only does it promote gender equality, but it gives them better opportunities and higher lifetime earnings. Instead of starting families at an early age and continuing the cycle of poverty they have been born into, they have a chance to flourish.

WHAT HAVE WE ACHIEVED SO FAR?
We’ve funded over 1 million days of education for children in Cambodia, Myanmar and Nepal! For more exact numbers on what we have achieved please see the counter at the top of this page.
We are so proud of these amazing figures, even more so when we realise that we met our goal early! At the start of our partnership in September 2019, we aimed to provide 1 million days of education by the end of 2020 and as of May 2020 we met that goal!
WE FUNDED A SCHOOL
On top of this, we’ve also just opened our very first fully funded school! The school was built and opened in Ta Lart Thmey, a remote fishing village in North East Cambodia with a population of 350 and a literacy rate of less than 10%. Not only have we funded the building of the school, but also the continued maintenance, teacher training and classroom essentials.
There’s still lots of work to be done to the school, but we’ll be continuing to support UWS as they work with the local community to undertake further renovation and improvements while growing and supporting their existing schools too.
