With the crunch of golden-orange leaves, chilly nights drawing in, and the smell of pumpkin spice wafting from the open doors of every coffee shop we pass, spooky season is officially upon us.
You know what that means! It’s time for terrifying trips to the pumpkin patch, nights in hiding behind cushions watching spine-chilling tales, and the search for the most bewitching and beguiling Halloween look.
Sadly however, we can’t be there to hold your hand when you’ve fired up Netflix for your evening scares, so we thought the least we could do is help you pull together that look!
We reached out to some of our frighteningly fabulous makeup artist friends, Laura Lou and Samantha Helen, and asked them to share their very own seasonal makeup creations that are…well, drop dead gorgeous. Try them if you dare!
LAURA’S GLAMOUR CLOWN LOOK (@lauraloumakeup)
STEP ONE
Ace your base! Here, I’ve applied Beauty Booster Sheer Foundation in Shade 3 and Illuma Light-Diffusing Concealer in Shade 3, both using the Kabuki Brush.
STEP TWO
Before you move on, add the finishing touches to your base. I used the Full Coverage Kabuki Brush to apply Jet Set Pressed Bronzer in Bali Bronze and the Powder Brush for Blush Crush Press Colour in Pinch Me Pink.
STEP THREE
Give yourself a smokier than smoky eye! The key to this is the incredible Silk Gel Liner in Ebony, which is a super soft, longwearing gel eyeliner. Apply and work with it before it sets, so you can smudge and blend it easily using the small end of the Small Detailing Brush.
STEP FOUR
Soften and wing out your smokey eye. I went for Eyes On You Pressed Shadow in shades Chestnut, Cinnamon and Galaxy, applied with the larger end of the Flat Detailing Brush, but use what you want and how you want it, tailoring it to your preference.
STEP FIVE
Add in the 'clown makeup' details and have fun with it! Play around with the Lash Extension Kit to give your eyelashes dramatic flair, before exaggerating that creepy clown smile by using a dark liner around your lips and winging it out – I’ve picked up my Silk Gel Liner in Ebony again.
STEP SIX
I also used Lip Stain in Bitten Red and Pink Bloom to add a smudge-free burst of stand-out colour into the look on my nose and lips.
Laura's Colour Palette includes Eyes On You Pressed Shadow in shades Bamboo Charcoal, Chestnut, Cinnamon and Galaxy, Jet Set Pressed Bronzer in Bali Bronze and Blush Crush Pressed Colour in Pinch Me Pink.

STEP ONE
Buff out a base with Illuma Light-Diffusing Concealer in Latte using the Eye Shadow Brush.
STEP TWO
Using the 3-In-1 Eye Brush, sculpt your brows into place. Then, feather-stroke Brow Boss Defining Powder in Carob to make those babies bushy.
STEP THREE
Using the Eye Shadow Brush, buff Eyes On You Pressed Shadow in Cinnamon all over the lid. Then, flip your handy tool to the pencil tip side to pat Galaxy and Bamboo Charcoal shades of Eyes On You into the corner.
STEP FOUR
To make your eyes pop, add Eyes On You in Halo to your lids, brow bone and inner corners using the Flat Detailing Brush. The shimmer finish will leave your eyes glistening!
STEP FIVE
Shape out your wing using Made You Look Wax Liner in Ebony and blending it using the angled side of the 3-In-1 Eye Brush, before getting those lashes looking like spiders! Using the Lash Extension Kit in Black, tickle the Extension Fibres onto your natural lashes before letting them dry and building with your Fixing Gel Mascara.
STEP SIX
Prep the skin with your Illuma in Barley under the eyes and down the nose. Then, buff Beauty Booster Sheer Foundation in Shade 4 all over the skin with your Kabuki Brush.
STEP SEVEN
Now bronze your beautiful skin with Jet Set Pressed Bronzer in Bali Bronze and make it glow using Eyes On You in Halo. Don’t forget, you can use eyeshadows as highlighters too!
STEP EIGHT
For blush, we’re going to break the rules and use Lip Glaze in Toffee Spice. Apply to the cheeks, before using the Beauty Drop Sponge sprayed with Vitamin Toner Pore-Refining Mist to blend the product into the skin for a dewy finish.
STEP NINE
Grab your Silk Gel Liner in Ebony as a spooky base for your lip. Highlight with Eyes On You in Halo and Lip Glaze in Scarlet Shimmer.
STEP TEN
Pop on a beauty mark using your Brow Boss in Carob and smoke out those under eyes with Eyes On You in Galaxy, Halo and Bamboo Charcoal to complete the look!
Sam's Colour Palette includes Eyes On You Pressed Shadow in shades Bamboo Charcoal, Halo, Cinnamon, Galaxy, Brow Boss Defining Powder in Carob and Jet Set Bronze Pressed Bronzer in Bali Bronze.
