Kiwi Cacao Smoothie

When it comes to breakfast, the jury’s still out as far as the best morning boost is concerned. There are the ‘go granola or go home’ among us, the ‘most important meal of the day’ preachers (hello Mum) and those who forgo a morning meal all together! But whatever camp you fall into, it’s hard to deny the tropical feel of a sumptuous smoothie to start the day. 

So, with this in mind, we’ve teamed up with plant-based food blogger, Amy Lanza, to share her recipe for this cracking Kiwi Cacao Smoothie, inspired by all the golden goodness in our Elixir age defying omega oil. With sweet flavours of banana beautifully balanced with the sharpness of kiwi and the creamy plant milk accompaniment, this smoothie is set to transport you to that holiday you’ve been dreaming of for so long.

Kiwi Cacao Smoothie

Serves: 2 

Time: 5 minutes 

Ingredients:

2 bananas, frozen beforehand in chunks

2 kiwis, peeled or un-peeled, chopped

1 tsp moringa powder

2 tbsp cacao powder

2 medjool dates, pitted

2 tbsp almond butter

2 tbsp coconut yoghurt

300ml plant-based milk

To serve: fresh pomegranate, extra yoghurt, extra almond butter


Method:

  1. Add all of the smoothie ingredients to a blender and process until really smooth and creamy, adding more milk as required.
  2. Serve in glasses topped with some pomegranate, extra yoghurt and almond butter, if desired.
